Just noticed this on Scan today only page http://www.jacarta.co.uk/

I am sure some of the more inteligent members of the group could come up
with xomething like this for a fraction of the price.

I like the fact that almost any other type of alarm can also be
monitored if a volt-free contact is present, eg. air conditioning, UPS,
generator, fire alarm system, etc.

Monitor IT Rooms and Racks Across Your Network plus many other
applications...

SP2 is the cost-effective way to remotely monitor critical IT rooms and
racks via your network. Supplied complete with a temperature probe, the
SP2 can provide early warning of air conditioning failure or other
unusual conditions. Heat is the most common cause of electrical
component failure. By remotely monitoring environmental conditions and
setting warning and critical thresholds, you can receive instant alarm
notification of serious problems in your IT rooms.
SP2 gives added protection for your valuable data and equipment against
heat, floods, fire, and power or air conditioning failure.

Plug and Go!
SP2 is designed as an out-of-the-box environmental monitoring solution.
It is supplied with two auto-sensing sensor ports that will instantly
recognise what type of sensor is connected. Simply plug the sensors into
the RJ45 connection ports on the rear of the SP2.

The following optional sensors are available:
. Humidity . Water (leak) . Security . Airflow . Voltage . Temperature

Almost any other type of alarm can also be monitored if a volt-free
contact is present, eg. air conditioning, UPS, generator, fire alarm
system, etc.

Web/SNMP Monitoring
SP2 is an ethernet device that can be monitored via a web browser
interface or a network management system (NMS). Alarm threshold settings
can be quickly configured so that the SP2 can swiftly become a valuable
resource in your business continuity strategy.

Alarm Notification
SP2 can be configured to provide SMTP email alerts based on sensor alarm
conditions. Where an NMS is present, SP2 will send SNMP traps to two
management stations if required.

Sensor Cables
A temperature probe with 0.3m cable is supplied as standard with the
SP2.
