It was us trying to find out the interfacing details to a HomeVision for
a
customer. Unfortunately, the manager that I spoke to was extremely
negative about the suggestion of external interfacing. He repeatedly
stated that the product was already talking to an auto-dialler (for
tied-in ordering when fuel is low) and they have no wish to allow
anything
else to talk to the unit.
It sounded to me that they have an exclusive deal with one or two fuel
suppliers and they didn't want the fixed telephone number reordering
mechanism to be bypassed by allowing external interfacing.
As the display is a 7-segment LED, it should be easy to tap off the
required liquid level signal for unofficial external interfacing.
