ADVERT (possibly) - ZoneMinder 0.9.7

Hi All,

I've tagged this as an advert but since I'm hawking something that's free
I'm not sure if it's
absolutely necessary. Better safe...etc etc

Anyway I'm pleased to announce the release of beta version 0.9.7 of
ZoneMinder which
can be had from the (admittedly sparse) website at http://www.zoneminder.com

For those that don't know, ZoneMinder is an open source Linux based
application which
can be used to monitor one or more video cameras and detect and capture
events caused
by motion in the images. You can access and control it locally or remotely
via a helpful and
friendly web interface which also allows you to watch live video streams or
review previous
events.

Potentially of particular interest to HA bods is the ability in this to
react to X10 signals by
forcing recording by one or more cameras, or for camera motion detection to
trigger X10
signals on either a toggle or time lapse basis. This means that for
instance, an X10 PIR over
your doorway could trigger recording of visitors independant of motion
detection, or
someone moving in the field of view of your cameras could trigger lights to
come on in the
vicinity. The Readme file on the website and in the distribution has more
information on this
and the other features in this version.

As I said above, it is still a beta so I'd be very interested to get any
feedback (including
bug reports) from anyone here.

Cheers,

Phil,
