Couple of quick questions. I got my xbox in October last year and was
wondering how i would find out whether it's a 1.1 or a 1.0 xbox? Also,
where can I source these modchips, and have you got/made a howto des,
I'm very interested in this now :)

I would look into the X-Ecutor Pro to be out soon. It appears to be the
most capable and flexible of all modchips.

I have read that the Matrix (with the Pogo pins for no-soldering
connection) only works in v1.0 XBoxes and not the newer v1.1 units.
