Yes it's more expensive and a lot of people seem have problems with it
losing alignment with the motherboard, meaning you have to re-open your
xbox
to re-align..
Another option is the X2lite is available (or will be soon) with pogo
connectors (something similar to the matrix, no soldering required).
Personally I would find someone close to you who can solder one in! Try
your
local computer fair, they sometimes have while-you-wait chipping
