I also used a Response wireless system and have had no problems in over
2
years of use.  They're easy to install, can be expanded easily by
buying
additional modules (pirs, door switches, keypads, smoke alarms etc). 
Mine
even has some wired contacts inside the control panel that close when
the
alarm is armed and another pair that close if the alarm goes off so I'm
planning to interface it to my X10 stuff at some point (to turn on
lights
etc if the alarm goes off).

I put a cheap wireless alarm in my house around 6 years ago, and its
