Open Vs. closed architecture basically...

PC's are so unreliable because they are so varied, and so unpredictable. It
is *impossible* for software manufacturers (including Microsoft) to test
their products with *every* conceivable combination of hardware that it
might be asked to run on. There are inevitably going to be combinations that
are damn flaky!

XBOX on the other hand, like all games consoles, is a stable, known, and
consistent hardware platform. Software does not then have to give 2 hoots
about whether it is expected to work with this graphics card, or that
graphics card, there is no choice. It is obviously considerably easier to
write reliable, stable code on that basis...

all IMHO of course...
