RE: ATI All In Wonder CATV connector

Keith,

Just a thought but the picture you saw of the card...
wasn't an American site was it? If so that would
explain the F-connector, as that is what is normally
used of there for coax tv feeds. IIRC

Thanks guys for the info, I guess the connector won't
be a problem. I
just need to think how I will be using the card to see
if the TS and TV
conflict would give me problems.

Cheers,
Yes you are right Mike, sorry for the
misinformation.

IIRC you can not have TS installed if you want to use
the TV stuff,
which I do for my CCTV stuff so it is not like you can
use either at
any time you have to uninstall one to use the
other.

I did once try a Hauppauge card but it was not
successful at the time,
may have been another issue though not necessarily the
card itself.
I have both the Matrox and the ATI and terminal
services and remote
desktop Terminal services /remote desktop work fine -
as long as you are
NOT running the TV screen I don't think this is a
design flaw
The PC you are bringing the screen to doesn't have
access to the Picture
hardware
> Thanks Brian, chances are I would want to use
terminal services at
> some point having just upgraded to XP on one
machine, I really like
> it. To get around this then I assume the best bet
is to either go for
> another make (any recommendations) or do a
separate graphics card with

> TV out and a TV tuner card?
> If you want to use Terminal Services on that PC
don't fit an ATI AIW.
>
> I have an AGP and a PCI version and neither work.
There is something
> about this "feature" on the ATI web
site, and don't try to contact ATI

> as they are only interested in your money, not
helping you sort it.
> Thinking of changing the graphics card in one of
my PC's so I can get
> a TV feed. Looked at the ATI AIW 7500, which
seems reasonably priced.
> Only thing is the TV signal connector is a CATV,
does anyone know what

> this is, does it just take a normal TV ariel
signal or is it a
> satellite connector, from the piccies it looks
threaded.
