Yes you are right Mike, sorry for the misinformation.
IIRC you can not have TS installed if you want to use the TV stuff, which I
do for my CCTV stuff so it is not like you can use either at
any time you have to uninstall one to use the other.
I did once try a Hauppauge card but it was not successful at the time, may
have been another issue though not necessarily the card itself.

I have both the Matrox and the ATI and terminal services and remote
desktop
Terminal services /remote desktop work fine - as long as you are NOT
running
the TV screen
I don't think this is a design flaw
The PC you are bringing the screen to doesn't have access to the
Picture
hardware
