I'm in the early stages of considering a Garage Door Opener. In an Ideal world Comfort would both control the Opening/Closing of the Door and know if it was shut/open. However cabling between House and Garage would be non-trivial.

Now obviously with something like the visonic wireless alarm kit Comfort sell I could easily have a (fairly) secure remote tell Comfort (by signalling a comfort zone) that I want the door open/close. Presumably I could arrange reed swicthes to indicate acual Open/Close aswell via wireless contacts.

But how could I indicate to the opener when to trigger ? (Other than X10 power flash).

Would anybody else have security concerns about allowing a garage door to open purely on an X10 signal ?

I guess what it actually needs is a full wireless solution to connect a remote Comfort LEM01 !

Thanks

Dean
