And Apple are doing stuff which isn't a million miles away too.

But what MS, and apple to a lesser extent, continue to ignore is true 
cross-platform support - presumably because they only have an 
interest in paying lip-service to the concept. xAP doesn't have that 
problem... with support for Linux, Mac, Win/32, PocketPC and a couple 
of embedded processors available today in varying degress of 
completeness and plenty more in the works - including, hopefully, 
real real appliances.
