Convergence is all well and good but if the converged device doesn't
perform the job as well as the individual devices then what is the point?

Windows XP Media Center is a product that has been approached the wrong
way around. Microsoft have said we have Windows XP Professional, how can
we make it handle TV/MP3/photos etc?

What they should have done is, like they did with the Xbox, say we want
to do build a device that does xyz, how do we do it?

A Windows XP Media Center computer will be at least twice the price of a
Tivo or Sky+ plus. Show me where the value in that is.
