Isn't this just like any STB? Sure it'll be a little bit more powerful,
but the idea of the media PC is that it's a PC as well, that's back
tracking into what we have now.

Your loosing the PC element of the media PC, the next generation of PVRs
will have more power to cope with the tasks as well, but if the tiny
spec that's inside a tivo can handle TV pausing and recording without
strain, why does it take something like a p4 2.53gig to do it? This is
the horses for courses argument, and without a doubt a dedicated device
will always do a better job at something than a PC trying to do 50 tasks
at once plus the TV components.

Oh and if it crashed when it was recording something I would be less
than impressed.
