Color Kinetic Failures

Well it was only a matter of time...

Recently installed one of my three power supply "bricks" from Ian.  Worked
fine for seven days, six hours use a day (on a timer).  Then it's internal
fuse blew :o(   Cautiously replaced fuse (after all, the switching on and
off may have aged the fuse <g> ), attached power supply to a safety
isolating transformer, threw switch and ... BANG!  Fuse #2 blew.  A bit of
digging around the circuit shows that switching MOSFET Q1 is short-circuit
between all it's pins!!  New one on order from Farnell....

And then last night one of the three cove lights in use died at power up -
no lights, no nothing.  Just dark silence (from that annoying whine they
make) :o(  If I get a chance I'll be stripping it down over the next few
days to see what's upset it.

Just as well I ordered more than I needed :o)
