Hmm, interesting, but I'm not sure how much of a rival it really is.
Even a 2.5" screen is still pretty small for watching video, so I
would stick with plugging it in to a TV (I browsed my pictures on the
TV in the hotel last week). There is still some question about the TV-
in feature for the Archos but it is not high on my list of
requirements.

The prices for the Mega Media seem pretty high, the Archos can be had
for =A3200 in QVC Warrington and that includes the camera and card
reader modules. I think that the original QVC price was =A3400 but I'm
sure it can be got online for a lot less.

I've done a quick comparision below:

Same as the Archos and easy to upgrade

Archos supports USB 2 and Firewire, usb 1.1 is very slow when
transfering 20Gb of data!

Users report up to 7 hours music and 3 or 4 hours video with the
Archos, though some 'battery training' is required. I've only
recently got mine and not used it for video, but I certainly had in
excess of 5 hours playback on the first charge.

Archos is 110 x 79 x 29 mm

Archos is 290g

Even the Archos is quite chunky compared to things like minidisc
players or personal cassette players, I'm not sure I'd want something
that is significantly bigger and heavier for mobile use.

No picture here, and I can't find one through google, I would like to
see what the unit looks like. The Archos is pretty ugly imho and I
would like to see someone bring out something that is a lot more
modern looking.
