Re: New IRM - I need your feedback

Hi Stuart,

The main reason for that is that it can be used on the same COM port as the
infrared interface and further with Franks FirM interface.
This is not possible with the included X10 plugin because of some technical
limitations (separate applications cannot share the same port)
Why to buy a new PCI to Serial interface if you can share the same COM port
without any extra cost?
My intention is to integrate my personal version of an I/O interface (16 I/O
ports) on the same COM port and in the same plugin.

Some other reasons are:
- a single Web interface for all home devices(X10 and infrared)
- using friendly names for X10 devices, not the device address (House
Code+Device Code) - this can be done in the included plugin too, but not
available for the moment.

I do not intend to write an input X10 plugin, so the integrated one must be
used anyway for that purpose.

Best regards,
Dan

Dan,

Quick question,

Autom8it already has X10 support, that is 100% stable.  Why bother writing
another one, or have I missed the point?

Cheers

Stuart

Hi all,

I really need your feedback for the X10 part of the new IRM standalone
application.
Have someone test it with CM11/CM12 type interfaces?
Have someone test it on the same port as for the infrared interface?
I want to finalize the new AutoM8it InfraX plugin version of the same
application and I need your opinion.

Do not forget to save the configuration file from the old version in a safe
place before uninstalling and then import it in the new version.

Thank you all,
Dan

P.S. For those of you who have just returned from the short holiday, the new
IRM (version 1.4.x) can be downloaded for free from:
http://www.autom8it.com/dante or
