cm12.. Any advantage to pluging pc into it?

Topic says it all..

Is there any functional reason to plug the power lead pc into the cm12?

After all the wakeup is thru the com port ring pin, right?

I would rather have the pc powered thru the ups, which I think makes
more sense.

I can't see any function to it, other than it would save people one
socket, but maybe you guys know something I don't?
