Found this while browsing the web, thought it may be of interest to some of
you.

I notice that a lot of USA companies WILL NOT SHIP TO THE UK

This website allows you to set up your own address in the US, THEY then send
the items to the UK for you.
There is a "calculator" on the site, just put in the weight and which
country and it gives you a price for postage, 2-3 days door to door, fully
trackable and insurance optional, i think

Dunno how the postage compares,  cant remember what postage costs i've paid
in the past
I spose you could still get hammered for import duty though
