But the Distance Selling Regs were debated in an open, democratic
forum prior to being made law. On-line e-tailers had the opportunity
to lobby for changes in the instrument (and may well have done for
all I know); that chance has now passed and according to the rules of
the game they have to put up and shut up.
The fact that they don't like it doesn't mean that retailers are
exempt from complying with it anymore than I can, say, choose to
disregard the legislated speed limit & the penalties incurred as a
consequence.
