I was hoping I'd made that clear by mention of the need for a merchant a/c.

Barclays don't seem to be a favourite of the gatways I've noticed, and
sorry dood but it's absolutely bullshit that you need to gain the
merchant a/c with the same bank as your normal a/c. There is no such
impostition by the majority of banks and is very common to use someone
else for merchant services than your primary bank.
