Another popular option is the Actinic package http://www.actinic.com.
The real problem with on-lne ordering is not the shopping cart
element, but the ability to accept and process credit cards in a
manner that is acceptable to the credit card companies. Doing credit
cards online (by which I mean on-line authorisation and funds
transfer) costs a serious percentage of the transation value, and
this may be in addition to the percentage charged (confusingly called
a "discount") by the credit ard procesor.
Additionally, the UK banking and credit card companies apply lots f
additional rules and constraints, on top of those imposed by the card
schemes themselves.
Of course, oce you get ast all these hurdles, you then have
customers, and they will tak advantge of the Distace Selling
regulations; make sure you understand what you need to put on yur web
site, as to say nothing is worse than to sy the righ things.
Worth a look: http://www.netbanx.com - used to be
market leader, may
well still be.
