Yes, but that's written in his mail - that there are few open source (free)
applications, but it wouldn't help me, because I don't know enough to use
them.
It' down to the level of knowledge of his friend. Like for everything in
life, if you know more - you pay less.
I see that your o2hoster supports e-commerce. Can't you offer him something,
or you are just hosting company, you don't do web design?

  Lots more cheaper solutions than that - http://www.oscommerce.com is free
  and has modules like that (I use the CVS Release as its stable).
