Yes, they do have a rather short life, particularly if you have kids.  Most
of the LCD screens are quoted at 60,000 hours.

If you wander around a shop and look at lots of big LCDs alongside lots of
big plasmas then the plasmas don't come off too well.  IMO they all look a
big "muddy" and the prices are very similar.

I'll certainly skip plasma and go for a big LCD.  I'd like one with a
digital tuner, DVD and HD video recorder built in.
