I just had to share this with someone.

As some of you may know from previous posts, I am on home highway and
right on the limit of service. BT's DSL database puts be way out of
range of DSL.

Now for about 3 months I have been having problems with HH and several
digital test engineers have come out to try and find the fault (HH shuts
down analogue goes dead, about 30 mins later digital comes up but
analogue stays dead until its reset at the exchange), the test engineer
is a nice chap, even climbed the pole in 50 mph winds.

Anyway today they called in a PTO (Precision Test Officer) who has spent
all morning working on it, he has done loss tests on out line and says
its incredible that HH works at all. He has done loads of tests on the
cables on the E side in our village and managed to find a different
route to the exchange which has reduced our cable loss to <45db which
means I can have DSL, he says that even though the cable is much longer
than the max for DSL the readings he is getting will mean its OK, even
given me his contact details so that he can talk to BT when I ask to be
switched over.

Only small problem is my exchange is not converted yet, but the trigger
level is achievable.

This changes my HA plans now. Best Christmas present I have got
:-))))))))))))))))))
