Does it really have PAL progressive scan? I thought due to continuing legal= ities, the Arcam DV88 was the only player with a legal implementation of th= is? Things could have changed though or their implementation is 'unofficial= '?

With my plasma, I found no difference when I tried the PAL progressive feat= ure of the DV88 on a region 2 disc. The Plasma has to do the conversion of = interlaced to progressive anyway - I think it does a good job from what I c= an see :-)

All

Whilst talking to RS about plasma screens, I got onto DVD players as my
current (Sony) one is nearly 3 years old and can be exchanged for 50% of th= e
original purchase price under the terms of the RS Supercare warranty. = My
old player didn't have component outs, hence why I'm looking to replace it.=

The guy in RS recommended the unit above - does anyone have any experience<= BR> of it?  It's got every possible output, and has PAL progressive scan, = which
RS claim is the only model under =A3800 to have this.  Also has DVD-Au= dio,
Kodak photoCD and MP3, and they claim the picture is excellent - all for =A3199 multi-region.

The other option would probably be the Pioneer DVD656A at =A3329, which has=
SACD playback, but no progressive scan - does this really make such a big difference on a plasma screen?

Pete
