RE: Color Kinetics - Bigger PSU?

Don't know if anyone replied to this...

>From the iColor Cove datasheet: Power Requirement 24V @ 250mA (6W)

You need a 24V supply that will give you 250mA (0.25A) for each light.
For 20 lights =3D 0.25A x 20 =3D 5A @ 24V.
If the power supply is only rated in watts, then the requirement is 6W per<= BR> light : 6W x 20 units =3D 120W
(To convert Volts and Amps into Watts, multiply them : 5A x 24V =3D 120W)
That's one mean "off-the-shelf" power supply!!  The best CPC= offer is p1461
PW00761 24V 2.5A =3D 60W @ =A341+VAT each.  You'd need two of these, s= plitting
the lights in two groups of 10.  RS (Sep02-Feb03 catalogue) p3-250 397= -9814
24V 5.42A =3D 130W @ =A3106.60+VAT - dearer than 2 CPC units, but it will p= ower
all 20 lights from one supply.

Can anyone recommend a larger PSU for powering more of our color
kinetics lights at once? Say up to 20? I just don't understand al these
'V's and amps' :-)

Many thanks
