I asked exactly that question.  The guy I spoke to (the Manager no les= s!)
seemed to know a fair bit about them.  Both screens/DVD players were r= unning
with progressive scan, and he claimed to have spent a long time getting the= m
(and the other screens) set to a point where they were all displaying the best possible picture.  I can't confirm that, but certainly a quick pl= ay on
the remote did show they'd been set beyond the usual defaults.  The ro= om was
a standard AV demo/lounge mock-up, with semi-bright LV lighting.

Most reviews that I've seen that have covered both screens rate the Pioneer=
as highly, or better than the Panny overall, but from what I saw, the
pictures were near-identical, even though they have very different contract= ,
brightness, and resolutions.

Just before you lay out your hard earned Peter, were they both calibrated properly? Everyone I know that has seen both in a properly calibrated and lit setting has said that the Panny is streets ahead.
