Johannes,
what I would like to see is some compact, small amp that I can attach
to
Extreamer. It doesn't have to be too powerful (30W is enough), but I
would
like it to be small enough so I can hide it easily, together with
exstreamer. I don't have room for full size amp in my bedrooms.
I plan to put NXT speakers (Wharfdale loudpanels) and use extreamer,
but
suitable amp is missing in my combination, and I still haven't find
suitable
one. Volume should be controled on extreamer, not on amp.
Also, it would be nice to have some display for control (picking songs),
if
PC is not convenient (e.g. in bedroom). It could be xAP display, but
something on your own as well. IR module can be also attached to that
display, but be a separate module as well.
Basically, what I suggest is to make more such modules available, which
will
enable people to configure extreamer differently. If you want to use it as
a
building block for whole house audio system, you need a freedom to
configure
it differently for Living room, bedroom and bathroom. Of course, try to
bring wiring requirements to minimum.
The other idea:
Many people in this group have AP at home and server. It would be nice
to
have some small compact wireless player, which you can easily move
between
the rooms, like portable CD-player, but will play mp3s via wireless
ethernet
>from
might come with some idea.
That thing would not require wiring and would get easy SWMBO's approval
because of that.
Cheers,
Nik

All,
this is a commercial question, still ...
Our knowledge is in Ethernet (Cat5!) and Wireless, serial, IR,
Audio .. and I'm looking for the next mid-to-longterm product to
do.
We now have the Exstreamer (and wireless) an "instreamer"
(connecting
an analog source to an ethernet) is in the works, and we have
planned
for an IR input and output extension for the Exstreamers.
We have also plans for a universal I/O for home automation with
digital I/O, analog I/O, and a 1-wire interface in a Dinrail
form
factor. which can also be used as a door manager (access
control).
Now, the question: what do you die-hards would love to see next to
be
connected to ethernet (wireless or cat5) ? your fish tank ?
lighting
control ? a mind reader ?
Please flood me with emails and let me know what you like to see
!
There's many things we can make happen !
