That certainly helps :o)

Do you know if it is possible to have both the from and to wires in a single
cat5 cable (i.e, PC -> sensor 1 -> PC -> sensor 2 -> PC -> sensor 3) ?  This
would make it appear to be a star, but is really a linear topology.
