RE: Re: Building Node0

Maybe I've gone a little over the top ;-).

We have just finished the first room in our house we are renovating.... It's
my sons bedroom (he's 4 in a couple of days)

I wanted to ensure that every eventuality was catered for.....

So I have 35 runs of CAT5 in his bedroom (none terminated or in use..),
where ever there is a power socket there are four CAT5 cables, there are two
either side of the window (in case I get automated curtains...) and 3 next
to the light switch.....

So when he's older, and moves his room around etc, there won't be great big
lengths of CAT5 trailing across the floor.

Neil
Happy New Year.....

I no longer have the option of running more cable at a later date.  I shall
be running the following....

Lounge:
2x coax
6x CAT5

Kitchen:
2x coax
4x CAT5

Bedrooms:
1x coax
4x CAT5

In addition, I shall coil up 10 CAT5 and 2 coax runs in the basement.  If I
do run out of cable in the future, I can run these to the lounge, kitchen or
bathroom.  Future runs to the bedrooms will invlove running down walls and a
job for the plasterer.  Does this sound a better solution?
