I also thought this could be a problem if nailing floorboards on top. From

what I understand it is better to make the hole as close to the centre

tically) as possible and away from the ends. If needing to put through

of cables it is better to cut out a rectangular slot along the length of t=
he joist than a bigger hole.

Ive head mention of wiring snakes for cabling in this sitation. I however

ont know where to get one :-)
