Bathroom Question

Phil,

One thing that I would say is that if your SWMBO is like mine and likes to take
looooong showers, make sure that you get a pump that is rated for continuous
use.  Several of the more common ones are only rated 10-15min's on and then 60
off.  B&Q/Screwfix do both.

I have one pump set on a concrete pad in an understair cupboard (Ground floor)
and the other on a sandwich of ply-acoustic foam-ply resting on floor joists.  I
have ply boxes lined on the inside with acoustic foam covering both the pumps
and with this setup there is little noise.

The first time I fitted a pump I mounted it to the backside of the shower wall
and nearly vibrated the tiles off the wall, hence the new designs.  I have also
used long plastic tap connector pipes as I found that even though the pipes
to/from the pump are themselves thick plastic, if these are connected directly
to copper, there is quite a bit of vibration which could be felt where the
copper was fixed to the wall studs.

I've noticed little difference between a 1.5 bar and 2 bar pump.

HTH,

Mark
