Windows isn't really suited to CF-only use because of the frequent 
disk-writes. CF has limited write life-time, and Win/32 is a bugger 
to configure as read mostly. On the other hand, this is relatively 
easy to do with Linux (so if you are willing to ditch Homeseer for a 
Linux equivalent, you are in business).
