Depends which region you are in as to whether it is worth contacting
the police - if your region doesn't have an officer dedicated to
fraud, there's little point in wasting your time - your report will
more than likely end up at the bottom of a paper tray somewhere.
My own experience of eBay suggests that they couldn't care less about
fraud of any description, despite the rhetoric on their site. It
would appear they are spectacularly inefficient at both detecting and
acting on reports of systematic fraud.
