I know there's some software out there aimed at the custom PC case
modders that will send various text to some displays - such as MP3
info,
PC temps, internet info etc.
Is the xAP way of doing things more flexible and powerful yet or are
there still some areas to get sorted? E.g. could I display MP3 info and
all the other things I mentioned in my first post? And can I decide
when
and how that info will get displayed i.e. is there some kind of
scheduling for it?
Paul.

Not that far off, I think, at least for my boards... There's a bit
more work to do on the hardware, and then I'll get some PCBs for the
PIC boards made up. The Rabbit PCB boards have already been through
one iteration, and are ok. The software is pretty much there in its
basic form. Realistically, it'll probably be a 6-8 weeks before
there's a complete set up finished and ready for public consumption.
The xAP concept as a whole is working really well in this
environment - and there toolkits available in various forms, as well
as integral support to Mister House, a Homeseer plugin, Active X
custom control and so on. I also have a PIC library for xAP, but
haven't publisher/documented it yet, and have even bridged two xAP
networks across the internet (experimentally)!
