It *might* be possible to do the whole thing small enough to get it inside<= BR> but I doubt it ( I certainly wouldn't be able to). There's a lot less room<= BR> than in the BTCD50. I'm going to mount it externally which just needs a
couple of wires back into the unit to hook up to the decode chip - and then=
cable to the PC for RS232 & Power.

It means I just have to sacrifice the freebie callerID to node0 and the BT<= BR> CD50 can stay next to the phone - It will be a while before I have anything=
that can give as a quick and neat a history of calls as the BT CD50. Well something that SWMBO would use anyway .... ;-)

Been playing around this afternoon and tried Jon Payne's BTCD50-RS232
circuit on the other CallerID unit I have. Its the Blue & yellow one gi= ven
out free a couple of years back if you took a couple of select services.
(Picture of the unit :- http://www.eatworms.org.uk/HA/CallerID2.jpg )

This unit has one of these chips http://www.eatworms.org.uk/HA/em92547.pdf
and applying the circuit to the Data-Out/Vdd pins worked first time.

It appears to work absolutely fine !

It reports caller-id info to HomeSeer via the Meteor CallerID plugin exatly=
as the CD50 does. I still get multiple reports for each number - but I'm 99= %
sure this can be got round by the "don't trigger again within x secs&q= uot;
function within events.

Once I've packaged it all up neatly I'll do a full write up.
