Hi guys,
The problem is not so much with the x10/x100 but with the ground
return.
With a standard scope, you lift the earth wire on the lead so that it is
no=
t
connected and then you can probe mains. Otherwise your nice shiny new
toy
goes off with a bang... I know, I have done it years ago. Even though
the
neutral on UK domestic mains is effectively earth (at the sub-station
at
least) you will still see a small potential voltage.

I think it's because Pico sell differential probes - they're very
expensive=
things - you can pay over =A3300 for one!
Try www.rswww.com code 188-4770 - it's a normal x100 probe - but I
think
you'll need to check with Pico to see if the input impedance is OK.
