The computer company I used to work for have just started doing a tablet
PC (write on one rather than clamshell type). They are a bit slow still
but they expect a much faster version in a few months. I was REALLY
impressed with the handwriting recognition - it was about 99.something%
accurate when I tried it for a few hours. I want one (no good for wall
mounting as you say) - but great for use in bed/AV room etc. Their top
version has a fingerprint reader built in but don't know how good it is.
Was fun writing in journal - much quicker than typing and allowed me to
get info down quickly - you can then format what you've written and move
it around, adding pictures etc.

When I was in the US last week, Las Vegas to be precise they had just
opened a huge new Fry's Electrical and, being a real trooper, I took
time out to pay it a visit and looked at loads of goodies. The beauty of
Fry's is, for anyone that's not been there, is that they tend to leave
wads of hi-tech kit out so the customers can play with them, nice.

Well they had out the new tablet PC's and TBH, I wasn't impressed! They
all use pens and only pens, fingers are not an option so they're no use
at all for wall displays etc. IMO. They also appeared a bit slow to me
>from but I kinda lost interest at that point. :/

Just thought I'd share ;)

K.
