Why not just run the Cat5 cables away from the mains ones inside the
consumer unit, this is no different to running mains and alarm cables inside
your alarm panel, there are loads of situations where this is done you just
keep them away from each other. If you really want to add insulation, strip
the sheath from some mains rated cable and slip over the Cat5, it seems a
lot easier than putting in JBs.
