An explosive cabin depressurisation at that height would have
incinerated
them almost instantly.
It's a sad, sad, day, and soemthing I hoped I would never have to see
again,
the only consolation is that the astronauts would not have suffered.
It's
unlikely that they would have known what happened.

What a horrible way to go... even if you managed to survive any of the
damage to the
craft, falling from 200,000 feet up and travelling at 12,500 mph .. I
think
you'd make
a bit of a dent. I would guess, much like the people who leaped from
the
twin towers
they would have passed out first...
