            It was an honest question - not a dig - I didn't ( still don't )
see the humour bit and sort of felt a little bit like hearing a football
match result before watching it later on TV - perhaps I'm just not a LOTR
fanatic and many others will appreciate it - actually I sort of thought
you'd posted to the wrong group by mistake.

            Despite your assertion I do truly appreciate the community of
UKHA , this one was lost on me though...  My 'OT' filter even missed the
magic two letters in the title - I'll extend it to include this sub variant
as well.

To answer the questions:

You have missed the bit, despite the fact it's been discussed many
times over the last five years, where the group is a Community, who
tolerate the occasional off-topic post of something members find
funny, provided it is non-offensive.

I posted it because I found it amusing, and thought that others might
do so.

If you note the subject line, it includes the magic words "off-topic".
