Re: OT : Bypassing DVD rom region coding

Do a search for hacked firmare for your drive.  You may also need something like DVD Genie to knobble your player software.

Failing that, this is supposed to work well...

Subject: [ukha_d] OT : Bypassing DVD rom region coding

  Hi All

I'm stuck using my newish laptop with either Region 2 or Region 0
dvds because I didn't pay enough attention when buying my machine.
It uses a Teac drive (Teac DV-28E-B 1.2B) that has hardware region
coding which only allows 4 changes to the region code before locking
  permanently on the 4th change.

Has anyone come across any web resources for drive firmware upgrades
or know of any software that gets around this?

  Neil.
