Having two kids raised completely on microwaved bottles I can honestly say
we have never had a problem. The issue is uneven warming of the milk which
does happen but a good swirl round sorts this out a treat. Watch that
pitfall and blowing them up where it goes in for too long and you will be
fine. Our 5 year old now nukes her own bottles and even she remembers to
swirl them - cool. In the old days we used to boil water and pop the bottle
into it particularly when out and about (restaurant etc.). This works fine
and is between the electric and microwave times.

You are right about the electric ones but they have to be built for the
most unimaginative of folks so bulletproof is the order of the day. Enjoy
the nipper and move out into the spare room ASAP, at least one of you gets
some sleep then ;-))
