Hi all

I'm not sure if this falls into or out of UKHA... as its computers, cameras
and DVD :-)

I am looking to take the plunge into the world of Digital Camcorders, and PC
editing, I am doing a bit of research at the moment, and am after some
advice / good websites with info on the subject.

I ideally want a DV camera that can plug into a PC, and allow editing, then
put the finished footage back onto a tape. (ok eventually onto a DVD, but
that's a future step!),  I see though that many of the cameras available in
the UK do not have a DV-in connection - does the lack of this mean that I
can't return the footage onto the camera once edited on a PC?

I presume Firewire is the preferred method of transfer between a Camera and
PC - are all Firewire cards created equal - or are there some I should watch
out for?

I last got involved in video editing about 5 years ago, using Pro Panasonic
kit... its a new world to me now :-)

any help / advice appreciated

Regards

Daniel
