I am (or will be when I code it) using a hidden frame that refreshes 
every few seconds (may be every second) and uses javascript to 
update information on the visible frames. But it is still a 'pull' 
environment, there is no 'push' from the server as Patrick says.

However, the solution I use will be entirely script based as my main 
clients will be epods with no possibility of java, activex or 
anything else remotely intelligent :(
