Re: Beware of CCLComputers

This may be a coincidence, but we are having problems with CCL as well.
I've used them loads in the past, and they've always been fine, so this
may be just coincidence, or it may be signs that yet another small IT
company is in trouble.

We ordered an Asus motherboard with onboard IDE RAID for a work machine.
The RAID controller didn't work, so we returned it (OK upto that point).
We received the replacement last week. The RAID controller still doesn't
work. When Nick (our new IT guy) spoke to their technical support guys,
having established that they had no solution to the problem, they then
argued that, as the primary IDE controller was functioning, it was good
enough for our purposes. Nick's young, so he left it at that. But rest
assured, they are going to get a very unpleasant conversation if they
try taking that line with me on Monday.

In the current economic climate, you do get very suspicious about the
financial stability of companies, when they start trying to shirk basic
responsibilities with completely bogus arguments. It sounds like excuses
to get round cash-flow problems. I will think carefully before giving
them any more of my (or my company's) money.

Cheers,

Bruno Prior
