Err, without wishing to start a huge flame/debate over Consumer Rights
again, I should point out that the Act states "...goods shall be
of
merchantable quality and fit for stated purpose..." (not quoted

Having made your requirement known at the time of purchase, I would
enforce
this right. If you paid by credit card, then you may have some
redress with
them too. Either way I wouldn't let them shaft you like this.
