xPLHal - http://www.xplhal.com/
is a free, open source home automation controller for xPL-enabled devices.
There are loads of xPL-enabled devices, including the X10 CM12 computer
interface, caller ID units, media players like Winamp, and many more.
See http://www.xplproject.org.uk/ for
more information on xPL.
Scripting in xPLHal is done using VBScript, and there are many API
functions to make things very easy, so you shouldn't have a problem there -
it only takes a few lines of scripting to get things happening.
Regards,
John
