BitOT: ZoneMinder 0.9.16 Released
It's a little bit OT possibly but those of you who use ZoneMinder might
like
to know that the new version 0.9.16 was released today and can be download
>from
release but there have been a number of major improvements you might wish
to
take a look at.
For those of you that haven't heard, ZoneMinder is a free GPL software
suite
that runs on a LAMP (Linux Apache MySQL Perl/Php) machine and allows you to
monitor cameras, both of the local (pure video and USB style) and remote
network variety. All configuration and control is accessible through a user
friendly web interface. It can be configured to detect and record motion or
work in continuous time lapse mode. Events when detected can be alerted via
email or other mechanisms, these alerts can include both images and video.
ZoneMinder also currently interworks with X10 via a suitable interface.
This
can be used to both output X10 signals from ZM (e.g. turn the lights on
when
motion is detected) or to control ZM itself (e.g. switch on motion
detection
when your house alarm is armed). Interface support has been improved in
this
version and I would hope to be able to support one or more of xAP and xPL
without too much trouble if there is demand.
Thanks for reading!
Cheers,
