First off, are they alive? My fist set would not recharge.

Second, have you checked the sub-channel?  I always use Channel 8 and
sub-channel 00 (disables the sub channels).  Mode button gets the
sub-channel indicator flashing and this allows the normal channel +/- to
select 00-38.

Apologies if this is a grandmother-sucking-eggs response!

I just bought a pair of BT Freeway Walkie Talkies for assisting 2 man jobs
and because I wanted them!  They worked fine when I put the batteries in
yesterday, but this morning I just couldn't get them to work - everything
looks fine - channel selection etc. but no talk or call between sets - They
look pretty simple and I have tried changing the batteries etc.  Anyone got
any ideas?
